Speech Contest 2012
Waimea Communicators’ Annual Speech Contest was held on Wednesday, 21st March 2012
This year’s Annual Speech Contest saw a line-up of six contestants, all of whom were well prepared and presented lively and enthusiastic speeches ranging from the importance of budgeting and music to a flash-frozen woolly mammoth called Loubya.
Our warmest congratulations to a well deserved winner, Linda, who gave a most entertaining speech on “Garden Pests”, the title of which was “My Darling Husband”!
Second place was awarded to Nissa for her holiday memories of an overnight train journey in India on the Magadh Express.
Yvonne came third with a speech on “Some Pitfalls of English”, which contained many tongue twisters and was delivered with aplomb.
