Indianapolis July 2011

POWERtalk Convention 2011: July 23 – 27, Indianapolis

Convention 2011 Indianapolis USA was full on from start to finish.  It was stimulating, emotional and educational and the speakers and workshops were first class.

The speech contest was great fun (for the audience). The compere, Betty Bell, and the speech contest chairman, Melton Baxter, did outstanding jobs. The contest was held in the late afternoon, but the results weren’t announced until the banquet.

I was pleased to be a Kiwi when New Zealand had two finalists in the speech contest and then Mary Marshall took the top prize . . . it was just wonderful.  Congratulations, Mary, we are delighted for you.

New Zealand was also a star in the writing competition and our congratulations go to Janice Gillgren, New Zealand Region, “A Dream of the Heard”, for gaining second place in the fiction category.

I look forward to sharing Convention 2013 with many of YOU on the beautiful island of Hawaii.

Linda – President Elect, New Zealand Region
